Bob Dylan, 75-year-old poet laureate of the rock era, has been rewarded with the Nobel Prize in Literature, the first musician to win the award. A controversial choice, he was chosen for the literary and poetical quality of his lyrics throughout his 55-year songwriting career. The Library holds a large number of books on the life, career and art of Dylan, featuring many recent titles, including a volume which features every single lyric penned by the new Nobel laureate. Along with a full array of music CD’s the Library has a number of concert and biographical DVD’s on the life and music of Dylan, including the wonderful feature film “I’m Not There” in which different actors portray him at various points of his career.
